Kevin Bacon Biography:
Born in Philadelphia on July 8, 1958, Kevin Bacon left home at age 18 to attend the Manning Street Actor's Theatre in New York City. In his first screen role, he uttered the now-famous request, "Thank you sir. May I have another?" in Animal House (1978), followed shortly by a legendary death scene in Friday the 13th (1980).
Bacon first attracted critics' attention playing a borderline alcoholic in Diner (1982), and his popularity took off with Footloose (1984) and She's Having a Baby (1988).
Known among many movie buffs for his ubiquitous links to other actors via "The Kevin Bacon Game," Bacon has managed to balance his work in a variety of films, including The Big Picture (1989), Tremors (1990), JFK (1991), A Few Good Men (1992), Apollo 13 (1995), Wild Things (1998) and Mystic River (2003). He received some of his highest praise for portraying a convicted pedophile in The Woodsman (2004).
