Kevin Spacey
Kevin Spacey Biography:
Kevin Spacey grew up in Los Angeles, but was born on July 26, 1959, in South Orange, N.J. As a child, he got in trouble so much that his parents sent him to military school, from which he was expelled. A prescient teacher at his next school suggested he try the theatre, and a passion was born.
Spacey's first screen role was in 1986's Heartburn (opposite Meryl Streep). A prolific actor, he's been in more than 40 movies, including A Time to Kill, L.A. Confidential and the animated A Bug's Life (as the voice of Hopper).
Although the consensus around Hollywood is that Spacey is the consummate actor, able to inhabit just about any role, he's best known for two Academy Award-winning portrayals: As the deceitful and deadly Verbal Kint in The Usual Suspects (1995) and as the heart-wrenchingly lost, unemployed husband and father, Lester Burnham, in American Beauty (1999).
