Reese Witherspoon Biography:
One of the most successful female stars of her generation, Reese Witherspoon was born in New Orleans, La., on March 22, 1976. Her family spent the first four years of her life living on an Army base in Germany and eventually moved back to America, settling in Nashville.
After years of acting locally, Witherspoon was cast in her first film, Man in the Moon (1991), directed by Robert Mulligan. Following roles in low-budget, independent films, she had her first mainstream successes with the reality-shifting Pleasantville (opposite Tobey Maguire) and as the victim of a wicked game in Cruel Intentions.
