Critics' Picks
Most people are interested in what someone else has to say about a movie - before or after they see it themselves.
We all have friends that we talk about movies with. Some of them we agree with, and some we don't. But part of the fun
of the movie experience is finding out what others think. And there are some friends that we rely on to have the same taste
in entertainment as we do - and so we give their advice a bit more weight that from others. These are like our own personal
movie critics.
There are plenty of people who make their living giving us their opinions about movies. 'Thumbs Up' or 'Thumbs Down' has become
a standard feature in our vocabulary when it comes to movies. We often search out what a particular critic has said about a movie,
because we know that if they liked it, it is more likely we will too. That's why they are there.
On a DVD Rental Service, such as Netflix, they make it easy to get a critic's advice on most movie titles. On Netflix, you can
see what Roger Ebert or Leonard Maltin has to say. And they have their own movie critic - James Rocchi - who writes
great movie reviews.
There is a section titled 'Critics' Picks' that makes it easy to browse through their selections. And when
you select a particular title on the site to get more information, the Critic's Reviews lead the comments from other users.
